Deep Root Fertilization

Trees need extra nutrients to reach their full potential and offset the lack of natural nutrient recycling in a manicured setting. Forest ecosystems are much different than the manicured environment in which we plant and maintain trees. Rather than having a forest floor covered in decaying organic material, our trees are competing for nutrients with turf, restricted by structures, and rooting in places with little to no nutrient recycling.

How often should you have deep root fertilization done?

We recommend deep root fertilization be performed three times per year. If you are unsure about the health of your trees and shrubs, be sure to call Arborlogical for a no obligation inspection.

Will store bought lawn fertilizer work for trees?

Typical granular fertilizer has a hard time penetrating deep enough to meaningfully impact your tree. Aside from this, the short term benefit of the high nitrogen fertilizer used for lawns is not always the best approach for trees and shrubs. Deep root fertilization allows our proprietary seasonal solution to be injected directly into the root zone.

How do I know if my tree needs deep root fertilization?

There are a number of signs that a tree "needs" supplemental nutrition (chlorosis, decline, etc.). Arborlogical, Inc's deep root fertilization regimen aims to avoid these severe conditions by providing the tree with proper nutrients throughout the year.

When is the best time for deep root fertilization?

This depends on your trees' specific needs. For example, if your tree is chronically chlorotic, then we may prescribe an iron supplement in early spring. In most cases, timing is not as important as repetition. Our proprietary deep root fertilization solution is adjusted seasonally and each application is beneficial for different reasons. Repetition is beneficial for your trees and your landscape as a whole. The act of penetrating the soil and injecting liquid at high pressure allows oxygen to penetrate the root zone and encourages fibrous roots to colonize.
